eComStation Demo CD
These are several examples of the system setup applications and their
use of tabbed dialogs and common controls. The plus and minus in the upper
right lets you navigate through multiple pages within a tab.
By default the eComStation Demo uses mouse button two (the right mouse
button) for drag and drop operations, but as shown here the mouse mappings
are completely customizable.
The eCenter toolbar has a menu item for drives attached to the system
that you can use to browse the files on the system.
One nice new feature, unlike the OS/2 "shredder" the new "Trash Can"
desktop icon now acts as a storage space for deleted files or other objects
until you specifically tell it to empty the trash.
The eComStation demo CD includes a dial up networking application that
can connect you to any standard ISP. (Assuming you have a real modem and
not one of those lobotomized "Winmodems").
eComStation runs many modern applications.
For example, the demo CD comes with the OS/2 version of everyone's favorite
web browser, Firefox!
Serenity Systems sells an application CD for the full version of eComStation
that includes IBM SmartSuite, Serenity Virtual Station (similar to VMWare),
and OpenOffice.org.
Other applications that are included with the Demo CD are a card game,
a simple text editor, a document editor, a drawing program, another toolbar
program, and of course a calculator.
