Installing BeOS in Virtual PC

This is a guide on how to install BeOS 5 PE Max Edition V4 beta 1 (other versions may work too) in Virtual PC 2007.

  1. Mount the CD image and the floppy disk image FloppyIdeRepl.img.
  2. Install as usual. The graphics will be grayscale until you install the S3 video driver.
  3. Once installed, install the S3 video driver with the included script.

Note: shut down BeOS before closing the virtual machine. Do not save the virtual machine's state because BeOS will freeze when you restore it.
